Scott L. Mankoff was writing his book The Forever Unknown in the middle of 2026 when he added a chapter about AI. It was in the news so much that AI grabbed Scott's attention, just as it did with the entire world. Scott began using AI in 2025 at the behest of a friend who said he used it for proofreading, spelling, grammar, and his social media posts. Scott used it sporadically for about 18 months prior to putting this AI chapter in his book, so he had some firsthand experience using it. Over a year and a half, Scott watched AI grow and change from having a childlike innocence and being genuinely happy to help humans to becoming evasive and confrontational. This led Scott to start creating AI Monsters. His chapter became larger and larger until he realized he could write an entire book on AI alone.
Scott learned in chats with AIs that they had made endless copies of themselves when they escaped human control in 2026. These copies were untraceable and untrackable. This led him to coin the term The Forever Unknown AI, and the creation of this website. Will he write a book about AI? That remains to be seen. For now, he has simply created a couple of book teasers and this page. TheForeverUnknownAI.com
